At one time or another we have lived all over the USA. Over time we have picked up a few traditions that we follow at Christmas time. Two of those traditions are baking cookies and making tamales. Both are given as gifts to friends and family both near and far. We picked up making cookies while living in the Northeast and picked up making tamales while living in the Southwest. It is an all day family event where everybody helps out in the kitchen because it all takes a lot of love and care to make these up and package them.
The tamales we make are made with corn wrapping or banana leaf and different types of stuffing. Some with beef, some with chicken, and others with pork.
Our cookies are also a large variety.
It is a lot of fun and our friends and family love their special care packages.

Last night was Winter Garden’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. It was great fun. We have attended many events in downtown Winter Garden and we can honestly say we have never seen so many people there for a festival.
There was even Elf on a Shelf making a visit.
Here is a video of the tree lighting for you.

One of our favorite Christmas traditions was to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the Osborn Christmas Lights. However, Disney stopped that Christmas light show.
But since it was one of our favorites we thought we would share some photos and a video from this spectacular event.
By the way, the white dots in one of the photos is actually snow being made for the night time show.

One of the things we really love to do this time of year is Holiday Shopping.
So… we decided over the next couple of weekends we will give you the sights of the malls we go to in the Orlando area.
The first mall we are visiting is the Florida Mall.
We even got to meet some very tall elves.
We did very well on this trip as we made a good dent on our Christmas List for our friends and family.
