We tend to celebrate the big holidays of summer with a BBQ. The usual… Memorial Day, 4th of July, and of course Labor Day. So… this Labor Day we wanted to enjoy a different twist on our BBQ. That twist are banana leaves.
We have in our garden a few banana trees. In fact, we are currently awaiting a bunch of bananas to mature and ripen up. However, we still have about 60 or more days till those will be ready. Instead we will use the banana leaves from one of those trees to enhance the flavors on our BBQ.
Banana leaves can be used for wrapping savory or sweet food or by using it like you would use foil on the grill. Today, we used the banana leaves as foil for our chicken. Any favorite chicken or fish recipe goes well on the leaves.
Once you try this you will be delighted by the flavor added from the banana leaves. If you ever get the change we highly recommend this little flavor enhancement to your BBQ.
